The Old Way:
Traditional patio installs require 6" of ¾" down aggregate, compacted in 3" lifts, followed by a 1" sand screed layer. That means hauling out thousands of pounds of soil and bringing in thousands of pounds of stone. Pavers go directly on the sand, but any disturbance on the sand screed layer means re-leveling. With today’s larger pavers, this process has become even more challenging.

Next Base a rubber-impregnated mat installed over your gravel base. Its tongue-and-groove connection spreads paver weight evenly across the entire patio, preventing uneven settling. With Next Base, you only need 1" of Cherrystone underneath, reducing digging and gravel hauling by up to 80%.
Plus, Next Base lets you walk directly on the screed layer without disturbing it. Slide pavers into place with confidence, no constant re-screeding required.
Cherrystone
Cherrystone is a clean, angular aggregate sourced from the Canadian Shield. Its unique shape makes it self-compacting. No need to rent a heavy compactor. Simply screed Cherrystone to 1", lay Next Base on top, and you're ready for pavers.
